Tolo, by Ustad Homayoun Sakhi

Tolo ("Sunrise"), was commissioned by the Apollo Chamber Players for their "We the People" concert season, dedicated to those who work for freedom, liberty, and peace amid conflict and war.

It has been published in their 2026 album We The People

I have curated its arrangment for string quartet, blending original melodic lines composed by Ustad Homayoun Sakhi with two famous Afghan songs, "Da Zamong Zeba Watan" and "Mola Mamad Djan", also known as "Biya Ke Borem Ba Mazar".
